Unreal Engine 5 + New animation ?


Macro Micro VR Service is a video game developed on the Unreal Engine 4 graphics engine. As many already know, Unreal Engine 5 is planned to be released soon according to rumors and those around me.

Most of Unreal Engine 5’s new technologies seem interesting to exploit for Macro Micro VR Service. I am mainly thinking about using Nanite to optimize pre-calculated graphic resources, an important element in MMVS.

Better optimization means more possibilities and less constraints, while not increasing resources allocation.

Imagine being able to increase the level of details even further, so we can see the small hollow lines between the floor’s planks or add more details on paws ;3

To sum things up : will Macro Micro VR Service switch to Unreal Engine 5?

Very likely, but not in the next couple MMVS updates as I would rather let the graphics engine get more updates on its own, such as bug patching. I would also need to do several tests and developments in order to update the entire game!

In any case, I will likely create a new stomping animation, lasting for around 2 to 3 minutes, that will use the new engine’s technologies. I am sure this will be very fun while helping me get used to the engine.
